Presented by The Wollongong Conservatorium of Music
Steve Barry’s Green Thumbs Trio is a classic soul jazz trio that pays homage to the great funky Hammond B3 organ players like the late Dr Lonnie Smith. Playing original music from their 2021 album release featuring songs like Cope Show Rip Off, Spooky, and If it Ain’t Broke…this band is every bit groovy as it sounds.
Dr Steve Barry is a pianist, composer and improviser of jazz and contemporary classical music and a lecturer at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Winner of the 2021 APRA Professional Development Award for Jazz, Barry’s recent projects include a work for Sydney new music group Ensemble Offspring, a 2019 tour of Japan with AUS-JPN piano trio Polyglot, and a suite of compositions and free improvisations for solo piano.
