Local artist Saxon Reynolds has created a steampunk wonderland, with a collection of 88 sculptures now on display at Wollongong Art Gallery. The Wunderkammer exhibition embraces the ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’, to explore the texture and beauty of discarded objects, and imbue them with new life and function.
Reynolds inherited a vast collection of what some might see as junk, from his musician father Cliff. Collected military objects, firearms, irons, sheet music – Cliff collected anything and everything.
Entry is free, and the exhibition will run from 3 April – 11 July.
