Live music and event grants

Grant funding available to musicians, music professionals and community groups!

Wollongong City Council have announced two new grant opportunities, designed to support and rejuvenate the local music industry, and help bring the community together as Covid restrictions ease.

Both grant applications close on SUNDAY 9TH MAY.

1. Live music grants

Live music is returning to our city with a kick-start from Wollongong City Council.

Local musicians and industry professionals can apply for up to $5,000 to help develop and deliver live music performances. Innovative performances, concepts and partnerships are welcomed. To be eligible:

  • Performances must take place in a Wollongong CBD business or venue
  • The performance must occur between July - October 2021
  • At least 50% of the performers must live within the Wollongong LGA

2. Community event grants

Wollongong City Council are encouraging local community organisations and event organisers to to create and host new community events as we emerge from COVID-19.

Three grants of up to $20,000 each are on offer, with one grant each to be awarded for events in the north, centre and south of the Wollongong LGA. To be eligible:

  • The event must be a new event, held within the Wollongong LGA
  • The event must be free for attendees
  • The event must occur before 30 March 2022
