Delight in a high tea experience
Sandwiches, scones, and tea, oh my! When it comes to high tea we are spoiled for choice in Wollongong, with a variety of local venues crafting delicious treats for you to enjoy. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday or hens party, or simply treating yourself to a luxurious afternoon high tea is always a good choice.
In celebration of the latest release of Bridgerton, gather the ladies and step into Hideaway Lane for a decadent afternoon tea. Step back in time where an elegant table awaits set with vintage tea sets, sweet and savoury delights, and fresh lemonade (just like a Bridgerton ballroom). It’s BYO champagne if you’d like to pop some bubbly, and dressing the part is encouraged!
If you’re not able to make that event Balthazar Champagne Bar has you covered. Each Saturday and Sunday from 12pm the team plates up a delightful assortment of high tea favourites including warm house made scones with Chantilly cream and jam, finger sandwiches, chef’s selection of petite delights, and prawn sliders. Your ticket includes a pot of tea, or upgrade to a French Champagne package to add some sparkle to your day.
Get creative with a life drawing class
Embody your inner Benedict and try out a life drawing class at 130 Art Studios. Join resident artist Jamee Barker each Monday evening as she takes you through the drawing session. Bring your choice of medium along with you (pencils, watercolour or charcoal) or use what is available at the studio. All skill levels are welcome, and your ticket includes a cup of tea or glass of wine on arrival.
Experience a concert by candlelight
One of our favourite things about Bridgerton are the modern-day songs reimagined as romantic classical inspired music, and this is your chance to experience that in person! Channel Bridgerton vibes and have your own night on the ‘ton at this Candlelight Concert.
With a night dedicated to some of Taylor Swift’s greatest hits, be swept away by a string quartet serenading you under the gentle glow of candlelight. This is an ideal romantic date night activity, or one to get together with your fellow Swifties for this delightful experience.
