Wesley Uniting Church
Wollongong’s beautiful neo-gothic sandstone Uniting church has played a key role in the community since the early 1800s. The current church was built in sections from 1882-1930.
Today, the church plays host to music performances, weddings, christenings, and outreach programs.
What's on offer:
- The impressive pipe organ was built in 1871, and spent most of its life in Surry Hills. It was reinstalled in Wollongong 40 years ago, and is still used in music performances today.
- The Wesley Community Centre offers up to 100 lunches each week to those in need, along with games, blanket, clothing and referrals to care.
- The church plays host to classical musical performances regularly and is an atmospheric location for these impactful performances.
- The beautiful heritage church is a popular location for weddings, particular with its central CBD location right on Wollongong's Crown Street Mall.
