ForHealth New Year’s Eve

Bring the family along and welcome 2024 with a magical New Year’s Eve fireworks display over Wollongong Harbour.

• From 5pm: Grab dinner from a local restaurant, or enjoy a pop-up food truck market in Osborne Park (across the road from Belmore Basin).
• Roving street entertainers will spread New Year’s cheer around Osborne Park and Belmore Basin.
• 9pm: A spectacular fireworks display will light up the night sky over the Harbour.
• Just like last year, they’ll be sending the fireworks higher so they’re easier to see from different places across the city. So if you prefer, you’ll have more options to watch from a socially-distanced space outdoors.
• You can also tune in to i98fm to listen to the fireworks soundtrack as you watch the sky light up.
• Park + Ride: The Free Gong Shuttle will run, travelling in a circuit via the University, Fairy Meadow, the Innovation Campus, and along Cliff Road past the Harbour. Why not park the car in Fairy Meadow or at the Innovation Campus, and jump on the shuttle for easy door to door service.

This year’s New Year’s Eve event will see the return of the Carnival in Lang Park – but with an extended format! Running for two weeks over the school holidays, the Carnival will be on from 26 December to the 7 January 2024, from 12 to 10pm daily.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks are presented by Wollongong City Council and supported by major sponsor ForHealth as well as The Cram Foundation, i98FM and Illawarra Mercury.
