Pete’s Marauders featuring Shelley Rae King, Annick Gouw & Nesta Whitlock

On Saturday, 20th June, for the first time on the Illawarra Jazz Club (IJC) stage, the feature band will be Pete’s Marauders, with a trio of local guest vocalists — Nesta Whitlock, Annick Gouw (IJC Secretary), and Shelley Rae King (IJC President). Pete’s band is known for its tight musicianship, cheeky humour, and generous spirit, and adding three powerhouse singers to the mix promises an afternoon full of colour and variety. Nesta brings soulful warmth, Annick offers elegance and clarity, and Shelley is the pint sized vocalist with the powerful voice.

Together, they will deliver a range of swinging jazz standards, some numbers to get you up dancing and moments that will display the best of our local talent. The band is led by Jazz Club Member – Peter Poole on all things brass – aka Jazzman Pete, Janene Weber on Trombone – aka Tailgater Janene, Nick Danser on bass, Mark Rote on Drums and Hans Kieft on keyboards.

This event is held in BAR67 which is located in the Basement of the Collegians Club in Charlotte Street, Wollongong
