Exhibition Opening for Dreams Nursed in Darkness

Join the team from the Wollongong Art Gallery for the exhibition opening of Dreams Nursed in Darkness.

Curators Elizabeth Day and Claire Taylor will lead an exhibition preview from 1.15 – 1.40pm, prior to the official opening from 2pm.

• Welcome to Country by Aunty Barbara Nicholson Wadi Wadi Elder, Director of the Ngana Barangarai (Black Wallaby) Project.
• Readings from the Dreaming Inside and Sista’s Green Sea Dreaming anthologies.
• Introduction by Daniel Mudie Cunningham Director Wollongong Art Gallery.
• Opening remarks by Pedro de Almeida Senior Curator C3West, Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.

Dreams Nursed in Darkness presents an array of creative practice by people who know incarceration firsthand and artworks that respond to Australian carceral contexts, past and present.
