Lucy Clifford Trio with Freyja Garbett and Jodie Michael

Wollongong City Council is excited to present exciting live music in the CBD. The Wollongong Conservatorium has lined up a mix of exciting street music and live jazz to support this initiative! Celebrate Make Music Day by enjoying the amazing jazzy sounds of the Lucy Clifford Trio. Together with Freyja Garbett and Jodie Michael, this powerhouse group of young women are some of the most prominent on the national jazz scene. This is an incredible and rare opportuinty to see all three performing a set together, and the best part is it’s free! They will be performing a set outside Lux Bistro Bar in Wollongong from 5-9pm.

Originally from Sydney’s South Coast, Lucy Clifford received her B.A in Jazz Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before relocating to Boston USA to attend Berklee College Of Music. There she studied under bassists including Lincoln Goines, Ron Mahdi and Anthony Vitti. An active and invested member of the Australian music community, Lucy joined Kate Ceberano’s band in 2022 for her national ‘Sweet Inspiration’ Tour and has worked alongside artists Urthboy and Emily Wurramara. 

She will be supported by Freyja Garbett who just played Phoenix Central Park in Sydney and finding some great success in the industry, and Jodie Michael who is also a past Jann Rutherford award recipient.
