Where to Go During the Triathlon

Wollongong Favourites to Fuel Up or Wind Down

Whether you're racing, cheering, or just soaking up the atmosphere, Wollongong’s food scene has you covered! From quick bites to celebratory dinners, here’s where to eat, drink and recharge during the World Triathlon Championships.

🥗 Light Bites & Coastal Cafés

Need something fresh and easy? Head to Longboard Café for pet-friendly vibes and smoothie bowls, or grab a seat at Diggies for brunch classics with a view of North Beach. Nicks on Bourke brings a taste of Greece to the coast, perfect for a light Mediterranean lunch.

🥡 Takeaway on the Go

Short on time? Pick up fish and chips from Levendi by the harbour, or swing by Bread Espresso & for great coffee and simple, satisfying bites. For something a little different, Casa Lu serves up Italian-style ‘Schiacciata’ sandwiches worth the walk.

🌶️ Craving Big Flavour?

Spice things up with Thai favourites at At Home Thai, or dive into rich Indian dishes at Seaside Shahi. For a unique Japanese experience, Katsu Tabi offers authentic Teishoku-style meals just a short walk from the action.

🍽️ Sit-Down Celebrations

Celebrating a big finish? Book a table at Steamers Bar and Grill for award-winning coastal cuisine, enjoy ocean views at The Boathouse, or indulge in handmade pasta at Ciao Cucina. These spots are perfect for a post-race toast.

🍰 Sweet Treats & Cool Downs

Craving something sweet? There are plenty of dessert spots perfect for a post-race reward or an afternoon pick-me-up. Head to Yo-Chi on Crown Street for self-serve frozen yoghurt with all the toppings, or visit Kürtősh in Globe Lane for their famous Kurtosh and slab-style desserts. Dolce Dessert Bar serves up crepes, waffles, and gelato in a cosy café setting, while Alexander’s Bakery Southside is a local favourite for handmade pastries and sweet treats.

🍸 After Dark

Not ready to call it a night? Sip whiskey at Howlin’ Wolf, enjoy the beachfront buzz at Pepe’s on the Beach, or explore the wine list at Night Parrot. For a laid-back vibe, Bevanda Bar, The Icon, and Bar Cabron are also some of Wollongong's favourites.
